DataVault is Tenjin's data warehouse as a service. It stores raw data for custom analysis.
DataVault differs from other data platforms in that all tables are neatly joined together by
id. This seems like a nuance, but when writing queries, this can make all the difference. Analyses are deterministic rather than probabilistic.
DataVault credentials are accessible through the dashboard under the main menu and "DataVault Credentials".
This is also a direct link to the DataVault credentials page.
If you don't have any credentials please contact your Tenjin representative to request access to your DataVault.
DataVault is an Amazon Redshift database that stores all of the app developer's marketing data flowing through ad networks, channels, analytics, and attribution systems on Tenjin.
You can learn more about Redshift its technology here: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/redshift/latest/dg/welcome.html
We find the happiest customers of DataVault understand how to optimize their queries on Redshift.
Tenjin's secret sauce is in it's ability to join foreign data together on an
id. You can read more on its schema here.
Marketers deal with multiple channels to acquire users with each channel organizing data in a different way. As a result of foreign data coming from different systems, joining data across each system in a deterministic way becomes difficult.
As an example, each system has its own way of formatting data so joining deterministically requires intimate knowledge about each system. This is the work Tenjin does for you.
Below is an illustration of this concept:
As you can see, Tenjin normalizes data from different systems and schemas into a format that individual data can be joined together on. Tenjin does this from years of experience working with the different systems.
To build this on your own would take years.
