What are clicks in marketing?

Anytime a user clicks on an advertisement displayed on a website or a mobile application, it’s counted as a campaign click. Upon clicking the advertisement, the user is usually directed to the product page where they can perform different actions that are considered as conversions.

Why are clicks important?

Understanding ad clicks is important as it is used to measure the effectiveness of an ad campaign. Advertisers use click-through rates (CTRs) to measure the percentage of users who clicked on an ad, compared to the total number of times the ad was displayed (or the total impressions).

A high CTR typically indicates that the ad resonates with the target audience, and is more likely to drive traffic and conversions. Ad clicks are also used as a basis for charging advertisers for their ad placements, with some ad networks charging per click on the ad.

What click metrics does Tenjin have?

There are two different types of click metrics you can use with Tenjin.

  1. Reported Clicks: This refers to the number of times your ad was clicked on as reported by the ad network.
  2. Tracked Clicks: This refers to the number of times your ad was clicked on as tracked by Tenjin. For some ad networks, this is tracked when the click tracking URL generated by Tenjin is placed within your ad. However, some ad networks like Google and Snap don’t require tracking links. You can read more about this here.
